Project Overview.

Twinbru is a digital platform that creates digital twins of real-world fabrics. It allows textile manufacturers, interior designers, and furniture brands to access realistic 3D fabric textures that can be used in digital renderings, product visualizations, and virtual designs.

The goal of the platform is to bridge the gap between physical fabric samples and the digital design workflow by offering high-quality 3D fabric textures that are accurate, scalable, and ready to be integrated into various rendering engines and product configurators.

The website is clean, highly visual, and uses smooth animations and transitions to present fabric visuals and use cases effectively.

Process

  • Research & Understanding Studied how physical fabrics can be converted into digital assets — including texture mapping, lighting behavior, and 3D modeling.
  • Digital Fabric CaptureWorked on designing how fabrics would be photographed or scanned in high resolution to create texture maps (bump, specular, normal maps).
  • Website UI/UX DesignFocused on a minimal, professional design that allows fabrics to stand out. Animations and scroll effects were added to create a smooth user experience.
  • API & System IntegrationConsidered integration points where clients (like furniture brands) can access digital textures via API or embedding tools.

Challenges

  • Balancing Realism and PerformanceHigh-quality 3D textures can be heavy — needed to optimize file sizes and rendering for fast website performance.
  • Diverse Fabric TypesEach fabric type (linen, velvet, leather, etc.) has unique texture and reflection properties that needed to be realistically represented.
  • Cross-device CompatibilityEnsuring smooth animations and performance across devices and screen sizes (desktop, mobile, tablets).
  • Content Hierarchy & User FlowMaking the website visually rich but not overwhelming, and guiding users clearly through fabric types, use cases, and services.

Summery

This project explores the design and structure of a digital fabric platform inspired by Twinbru. The core idea is to help brands move from physical sampling to digital workflows by offering hyper-realistic fabric textures that are scalable, interactive, and accessible.

“In this project, I designed a modern, animated, and highly visual website for a digital textile company. The platform allows users to browse and experience 3D fabric textures, learn about use cases, and connect with the brand. The main focus was on performance optimization, visual clarity, and creating an immersive user experience.”
